Black Helvella Rides On

11.10.08

Well I was totally blown away when I heard Elfin Saddle perform again after nearly two years. The set, plugged in and loud was pregnant, powerful, and mysterious, like a soundtrack to an epic, haunted myth. While listening, I was overwhelmed with the feeling that they have totally embraced and incorporated the energy and attitude of their home, forcing the revelation that we all are profoundly affected by our environment. Their transformation, made as a result of circumstance and location, is truly awesome and I feel privelaged to have seen it. Thank you Emi and Jordan!

Harvest Time

10.18.08

Julia and I pulled out all the woody materials from the garden plot to ready it for the fall plowing under. We found a secret stash of potatoes that we feared had rotten. They are nearly all purple, the texture of a toads skin and the size of a toddlers fist.

Soak the sun all.

Up On the Tick Tick Roof
Up On the Tick Tick Roof

For the past couple months, Tick Tick adjunct and incredible illustrator, Colin-Patrick Charles has been working with David Strackany to produce a new design for a set of tees for Paleo. They had been communicating via email, delving into the seen unseen, Until NOW!

For the next couple hours, David hand rolled all the tees into tubes, taped them up and labeled them with their size, and made another point brutally clear, that we need an intern to do that kind of work.

All parties interested in rolling up t-shirts, mopping and vacuuming, cleaning squeegees and putting up posters around town please contact me immediately. This is a real opportunity to discover the inner workings of a screen printing business while being shamelessly exploited.

Smashing Pumpkins Come to Burlington!

10.09.08
Check this out!
Someone threw a pumpkin through the back windshield of the Tick Tick minivan on the night of Thursday, October 2. Who would do this? We suspect our O.N.E. rivals: those jerks over at Dick Dick.
Please report any suspicious activity to Officer Chenette of the Burlington police!
Lets work together to take back our streets.

Tick Tick at Art Hop 2008 Yo-yo-yo-yo!

09.06.08
Rucchi, Dale and Nick and I had a bunch of extra time while screen-printing at the Art Hop party at the offices of Seven Days.
Then we got a bunch of yo-yo’s right, and things just turned crazy, crazy.
It was super hot out for this time of year, and also, rediculously windy, which made it really hard for us to cure the ink on all our shirts. There were a bunch of incredible pulled pork sliders, MMMMMMMMH!
Check out the Speaking Volumes shirt that Dale designed and is wearing.
